Welcome to The Relisher’s London edition!
I'm a huge fan of ’s Substack, and a few months ago, she shared that London is her favorite city. We’ve teamed up for a special edition of The Relisher, featuring the best of London’s restaurants, according to two-Michelin-starred local chef Andrew Wong and Bobbi’s essential packing list for London.
Chef Andrew, born and raised in London, is the chef and owner of A.Wong — widely regarded as the city’s best Chinese fine-dining restaurant. A.Wong is also the first Chinese restaurant outside Asia to earn the prestigious honor of two Michelin stars.
Below, one of London’s most acclaimed chefs shares his favorite spots and must-visit restaurants for first-time travelers to the city.
Must-Visit Restaurants for First-Time London Visitors
The one thing you need to know about London is that it’s a true melting pot of cultures. It’s not just about fish and chips or traditional British cuisine. If anything, London is one of the most gastronomically cosmopolitan cities in the world—more so than New York, Paris, or even Hong Kong. What we probably lack in London is a distinct British cuisine. It doesn’t really exist because the city draws from hundreds of different cultures, and I think it’s important for visitors to experience that diversity firsthand.
That said, if I were to recommend something ‘British’, it would be The Wolseley. Walking in, you feel as if you’ve stepped back in time, becoming part of its history. The food is consistently excellent, whether you’re there for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or an early dinner. For me, this restaurant has always been the place to take friends when they visit London for the first time.

Bobbi’s Packing List
Here are the essential items I pack for my travels:
Parker Thatch Micro Mini Crossbody Bag: It’s cute and chic, and perfect for walking through the city.
Handvaerk White and Black T-Shirts: My new favorites, from Handvaerk. It’s amazing cotton and washes like it’s new. The collars stay flat and feel great after a wash.
The New Jones Road Classics Kit: I love this kit because it is all the basics you need to do your makeup. It’s also great for all skin types.
New Balance 574 Classics (Black): I’m packing these because I walk a lot. They’re comfortable, chic, and have a vintage vibe. I can also wear them with black pants and a Chanel jacket for dinner.
Navy Silk TWP Skirt: I can dress this down with my sneakers and a T-shirt, then throw on one of my favorite sweaters from either The Row or Lingua Franca.
Supplements: I’m taking my Mindbodygreen Sleep Support, AG1, and Seed Probiotics. I also never travel without my favorite tummy remedy, Oxyboldine, which I buy from a French pharmacy – unfortunately, I always end up needing it when I travel.
